Pin and pens

Juan, Omar, Enrique and I went to some expo in the Centro Histórico organized by Conacyt. My idea was to had Enrique to see the Guelph booth and Omar to see the Toronto one. Neither of those universities were in the expo, so in that sense if was a failure.

However, Tracy Cote, a lady from Waterloo, was in the Waterloo booth, and she gave me one pin and a pencil and pen, with the logo of the University of Waterloo. I talked a little with her, and I liked her. She told me: “don’t give up; if Conacyt don’t want to give you the scholarship, DON’T GIVE UP”. Cool lady.

I told Omar and Juan (Enrique went before, he had a meal) that I was happy about Tracy, because she speaked to me a little fast and I was able to understand her. Omar told me that he was thinking she was nice for talking to me so slowly. Damn him.

Then we went to La Plaza de la Computación, and I brought ten DVDs and a hundred CDs. Which is A LOT, but I was unable to convince the seller to give me only 50. So, I hope that I had enough CDs for the rest of my life.

Sunday I reviewed half of the homework I need to review, and advanced a little in Maistro. I’m happy about it; it seems that I’m catching up.

Today my boss in TMM told me that they want me for another week, and he praised me in front of my pimp, which I appreciate. I wanted a week of vacation, however, and all my offers are like in the middle of the air. I will make a decision as soon as I finish in TMM; the final user asked for a couple of features, so I’m working on it.

Suppposedly, I was getting paid today, but I haven’t checked since 2:00 PM. Maybe I should. And anyway, they aren’t paying me all my money, but another large chunk, so another payment will be necessary. And they will pay me this week also; at least the extra days outside the original agreement.

So, I have money, work for another week, my academic responsibilities almost resolved, and a pin and a pencil and pen from Waterloo. Life’s good.

Oh, except that my cell phone seems to be broke, and now no one hears me. Damn.

With regard of the money, I’m looking into buying three things:

  1. A PDA. Current candidates are:

It must have integrated wireless (802.11b/g), and mini QWERTY keyboard.

  2. A digital camera. My candidate is:

It must be Sony. With at least five megapixels. And as small as possible, but with good zoom (3x at least).

  3. An iPod. 40GB. I take no less.

That’s like $1,500 dollars, maybe less. I’m dying for any of those things.

Oh, and I need a laptop. But that’s a separate plan.
